For those who want to create their own game portal I’ve got simple instructions.

Firstly, you need a Coppermine Gallery script which can be found at http://coppermine.sf.net (it’s open source and can be used for free).

Secondly, a good web hosting plan with lots of bandwidth which you can choose at http://www.vipmailhost.com as sample (There is a bandwidth comparison table, and it’s important because games usually need a lots of bandwidth),

and, of course, our good old friend Google.com - with his help you can find a lot of free flash games for your website. Just try using search keywords such as “free flash games download”, or “free flash games for web site” etc.

There are websites like www.miniclip.com and www.freeonlinegames.com, for example, who allow putting their games on your website for free.

After you’ve register a cool domain name for your game portal and got a good a web hosting plan, all what’s left is to download and install coppermine gallery, put some games, and submit your web site to Google which is also free.

It’s possible to get your Game Portal running less than in a WEEK! (I did http://www.aplace4games.com in 4 days, for example.)

But the hosting isn’t free, so why is in the article name is word “FREE” ? Good question, but there is a simple explanation to this. All you need is Google Adsence, put some ads on your website and enjoy getting rich.

I did this and now I have my own pocket money.

When it comes to throwing a wedding shower, do not forget to include classic Games for Wedding Showers. Over the years, guests have come to expect to play these fun games, but many variations have been created of these classics to provide updates over the years. If you are in the planning stages of hosting a wedding shower for a beloved friend who is about to take the long walk down the aisle, think about including a super Wedding Shower Game to entertain everyone.

One of the popular Games for Wedding Showers is the classic clothespin game. There are many variations, but the most popular involves passing out clothespins or any other item guests can affix to their clothing and instructing guests to not cross their legs. If anyone catches a guest with her legs crossed, he or she can take the clothespin. The trick of the game is not avoiding crossing your legs, but rather trying to do so without having anyone notice.

Another variation of this wedding shower game includes instructing guests to avoid a certain word. Usually, guests are instructed not to utter words like “wedding,” “bride,” “groom,” or any other matrimonial word. If a guest is caught saying the forbidden word, their clothes pin is taken away and awarded to the individual who caught the slip up. At the end of the party or at the end of a given amount of time, do a count of everyone’s clothes pins and award a prize to the guest with the most.

The memory game is another one of the classic Games for Wedding Showers that tests the memory abilities of all the guests. Compile a collection of wedding related items or pictures of wedding related items in a bag or box. Display the items for a short amount of time, usually a minute, but can be more or less depending on the items in the collection. Put the items away and give the guests a couple of minutes to write down all items they remember. After the time is up, display the objects again and declare the guest who could remember the most items the winner.

A great twist on this wedding shower game is to have an individual bring out the items on a tray. Instruct guests to remember everything they see, and then quiz the guests on the details of the person instead of the items. This twist will surprise many guests, who will have been studying the items instead of the person. Declare the guest who could best remember the person, their features, and their clothing the winner.

The following spelling games can be used by parents — or teachers — to reinforce spelling in children.

SPELLING GAME 1: USE BOARD GAMES, SUCH AS MONOPOLY

Play any game that is normally played with dice with the child — Monopoly, for example. The parent can continue to move her token forward in the normal way by throwing the dice, but the child must orally spell a word to move forward. To select words that can be used, the parent can use words from the child’s schoolwork that he often misspells. She must make word cards of these words. It is best to use not fewer than 20 words and not more than 30. When playing a board game, the same 20-30 words can be used, or if the child already knows how to spell them, other words can be selected. The parent must thoroughly shuffle the word cards, and then put them in a pile upside down on the table between the two (or more) players.

When it is the child’s turn to play, the parent must take a word from the top of the pile and then say the word aloud. The child must spell the word. If the child spells the word correctly, he may move his token the same number of spaces as there are letters in the word. For example, for a word of seven letters he may move his token forward seven spaces. The word card is then put aside. If, however, he misspells the word, the parent must show the word to the child, and the child must spell the word aloud three times while looking at the word, and then three times without looking at it. Then the word is put at the bottom of the pile, so that it will come up again later. If the child misspells a word, he may also not move his token for that turn.

SPELLING GAME 2: HIDE AND SEEK GAME

Use the letters of a particular word, and build new words with these letters. For example, if one decides to use the word “difficulty,” one would write this word on a piece of paper and put it in front of the child.

The aim of the game is that the child must make a list of all the words he can think of using only the letters of the chosen word. It can also be played as a competition, meaning the parent can play it with the child, and at the end, the one with the largest number of correctly spelled words, wins.

There are always many words that can be formed in this way, and in an indirect manner the spelling of the chosen word is practiced, while many other words are also tested for spelling. A few examples of words that can be formed from the letters of “difficulty” are: if, left, cult, cliff, fifty, duty, etc.

Note that each letter may be used once only. The letter f appears twice in the word “difficulty,” and therefore a word like “fifty” is acceptable. “Dull,” however, is not acceptable.

Some examples of words to be used: alphabetical; misunderstanding; occasionally; postponement; mayonnaise; multimillionaire; credibility; determination; education; friendship; generosity; hippopotamus.

SPELLING GAME 3: WORD JUMBLES

Another interesting method of practicing spelling is by making word jumbles. The child then has to sort out the confused letters to come up with a word, which he has been taught before.

Words must be selected from the child’s schoolwork. Use a piece of paper, and write the word jumble on the paper. For example, if the letters “hergun” are written on the paper, the child must rearrange them to form the word “hunger.”

SPELLING GAME 4: NAME, SURNAME, ANIMAL, AND CITY/TOWN

To play this game, the parent and child will both need a piece of paper and a pencil. Write the 26 letters of the alphabet on a piece of paper, and select a letter at random. The parent and the child must now, as fast as they can, write down a name, surname, animal and town that starts with the selected letter. The one that finishes first gives the other party only 5 seconds, before shouting “Stop!” and then all pencils must be put down.

Ten points are awarded for each correctly spelled word. If both parent and child had exactly the same word under one of the headings, for example, both had the same animal, only 5 points will be awarded if the word was correctly spelled.

Say, for instance, the letter “d” was selected: Names: Douglas, Danny, David. Surnames: Davis. Animals: dog, dinosaur, deer. City/Town: Dallas, Durban.

If you miss some of your favorite classic arcade games, don?t worry. You may be able to still find one. First, however, you should be patient in doing research. It can be quite hard to find one and patience will be needed. Your first option would be from the operators. Operators are the people who present the games that you see in the arcades. You can find a list of operators in the yellow pages in the ?Amusement Section?. This is where you can find the best operators in town. Most operators often place stickers with their name and contact information on their machines so that you can contact them anytime.

You can also ask the people who have worked for the local arcades. You can ask them if the classic arcade games you have been looking for are still available. Usually, you can find operators in the ?Home Sales? of the Yellow Pages. But the prices are usually higher than those of the original operators so it would be better to shop and look around first.

In looking for your arcade games, remember to keep a cool head. If you have found the classic arcade games that you are looking for, don?t show the operator or the seller that you are too eager to buy it. In fact, ask for a discount!

Another option is from auctions. Auctions are occasionally held around the country. This is where the operators sell their classic arcade surplus games. The ones most interested in buying these games are the operators and collectors. You can find out about auctions in your area by asking those who usually attend them. Some auctions are posted in magazines and bulletins. You may also find fairly constant discussions that relate to future auctions by checking out ?Miscellaneous Games? in your local paper. The best resource is to ask an operator directly. If you are in the USA, you have more chances of getting updated because you can obtain a copy of a magazine that contains all the lists and information.

Sometimes, newspapers and local papers are overlooked but the classifieds section is the perfect page to find the games you want. The prices may seem high due to the competition because most of their customers are first time buyers. But even if you are a first time buyer, you can negotiate and have the prices lowered.

The last and easiest option is through the Internet. You can search different sites. You can also register and join the forums where people post their classic arcade games for sale. If you happen to find one, it?s as easy as ordering on line. The waiting for it to arrive is the hard part. Consider these options and find one that fits your circumstance. Remember, don?t pay too much!

Internet games use the cyber world technology for playing. Games are extremely popular and constantly evolving.

There are:

* Games played using e-mail.

* Games played on a browser window by using a web address.

* Games played using Internet Relay Chat, Telenet, MUD client, or a Web based forum.

* Games that are graphic need stand-alone software that permits players to play with or against one another using an Internet connection.

The first game, MUD, was developed in 1978, and the market has burgeoned since then.

To play, one needs:

* A reliable Internet connection.

* A personal computer or game console.

* Selected software required by specific games.

One can play simple board games like scrabble, or bingo, or games like poker, mahjong, and pool. Another popular category is simulation games–these imitate real-life situations and cover aspects like combat, city planning, strategies, as well as flight simulation.

For serious gaming the computer performance must be optimized. This can be done by:

* Running the disk defragmenter and organizing the computer files. This should ideally be done once a month at least.

* Correct folder and file errors by using scandisk—use once a week and the computer will give trouble free performance.

* Clean your hard drives–get rid of Internet files, temporary files, as well as files in the trash/recycle bin. Clear the cache and uninstall programs that are not in everyday use.

* Update the operating system software. Download any new security patches. Keep video drivers updated.

* Clear space on the hard drive—store files on a back up system.

* Clear any spyware you have inherited from websites. * Minimize number of programs running–when playing a graphic intensive game if there are too many programs running simultaneously the graphics will become choppy and game will be slow.

* Delete add on game files–wall papers and other paraphernalia will just clutter the computer.

* Run an anti-virus program regularly but disable it when you are loading/playing games. Antivirus programs slow down games.

* Always shut down the computer properly.

The Internet allows gamers to compete with people across oceans, on the other side of the world and anywhere in the universe. Some use PCs while others use consoles. What you use is a personal choice and depends on issues like costs and so on.

Before you buy a game you must:

* Consider “system requirements” - some games can run on systems that are not exact others need specific hardware.

* Find out if the game is single player or multi-player. Many games need the Internet–and, the broadband connection is more efficient than the dial-up connection. Many like Xbox Live only work on a broadband connection.

* Find out if the game can be played using a mouse/keyboard or whether it will need a full-featured joy stick.

Be wise and try a demo before making an actual purchase. Playing a demo benefits the player as well as game developer. Many online games offer free trial periods —beta testing is a great opportunity to find out if the game suits your taste as well as pockets.

Do your research thoroughly–usually there are several games competing for players within a genre. Read game reviews before taking the final step.

Sudoku is one of the hottest trends. The interest in this Japanese number crossword puzzle is absolutely at a fever pitch. The rules are simple - fill in the squares so that all numbers are represented only once per row. Simple rules, difficult to follow. What makes Sudoku almost addicting is the consistent challenge of finding the right match. The trial and error matched with a pre-planned strategy based on the clues you’re provided make success possible for everyone. And of course it helps that there are different game levels available. So you can start with, or always go back to, the easiest level in order to gain an understanding of how the game works and what strategies work best for you. And unlike crossword puzzles, which are popular in their own right, Sudoku does not require an infinite knowledge of words or a long-term commitment to figure a puzzle out. And the frustration level stays low because one can always go back to the most basic level and focus on speed rather than mere completion. In a 5-30 minute time period, one can play a game or a few, be challenged intellectually, get the satisfaction out of completing a puzzle, and walk away refreshed to go use their brain in another matter. And with the online resources and local clubs and competitions, the Sudoku experience is only becoming more popular. School children use it in their classroom to practice addition, number patterns, and logical thinking - while many in assisted living programs have incorporated Sudoku into their regular bingo rotation. The best thing about Sudoku is it provides an equal playing ground for everyone. Four year old kids, elderly adults, PhDs in math, and those who don’t speak English can all play the same game, with varied difficulty levels, and get the same level of satisfaction from it.

Bridal shower games are a wonderful way to put your guests at ease and to get the party started! Fortunately, there are lots of games you can choose to play.Bridal shower games are a wonderful way to put your guests at ease and to get the party started! Ideally, bridal shower games should be easy to play and should provide guests with an interactive way to interact with one another in a casual and fun way. Fortunately, there are lots of games you can choose to play.

Trivia bridal shower games are wonderful because they give guests the opportunity to prove how well they know the bride or groom by encouraging them to answer questions about when the couple first kissed, what their jobs were, where they attended college, etc. A variation can be current information such as the brides favorite restaurant, where she would like to vacation, and her favorite food.

To get everyone moving, try some games that require the guests to get off their butts and socialize. Wedding dress is an all around favorite. For this exciting game, you divide the group into groups and have each group dresses one member in a wedding gown made entirely from toilet paper. The bride then chooses the winning design of course! For extra fun, have the models be the mothers of the bride and groom and the maid of honor.

Purse power is a one of those bridal shower games that is fun and can help the guests get to know a bit more about each other as well. Have everyone put their purses in front of them, then start naming items from a list that you are looking for. You can award points for each item that a guest has in her purse, with more points for unusual items (1 point for powder or lipstick, 5 points for mini flashlight). To get into the grove of things, give extra points for birth control pills, foam, diaphragms, or condoms!

Traditional word games are also popular games to play and you can focus on such games as word searches, scrambles, or hangman style games based on words and phrases having to do with weddings. These are easy to find and download on the Internet or find in bridal shower books.

With so many games to choose from, keeping the laughter going will be no problem at all!

part I - characters, attributes and experience explained

For the ones of you that don’t know RPG stands for Role Playing Game, and is one of the most played type of game nowadays.

You are the main hero, and you interact with other characters also called NPC-s ( or Non Playable Characters if you’re playing single player). They will give you quests to do, and you have to do them, in order to get experience and advance to higher levels.

The story has the main quest, that will end the game when finished, and usually a lot of side quests, that will help you develop your character. The side quests are not necessary, but will get you deeper into the story and sometimes that is really worth it!

Most RPG games allow you to choose your type of character at the beginning. Usually there are several types of characters, all with different attributes, but there are three main categories to choose from: wizard, fighter and archer. These will take different names and attributes and will be further more differentiated into subcategories, depending on the game. For example, the wizard can become specialized on different categories of spells, like earth, water, dark magic, white magic, fire, lightning, nature.

How do you grow your character? Well this depends from game to game, but basically you have :
-life, called life points in many games representing your health
-mana, or mana points representing the wizardry point you have left( these point allow you to do spells, if you don’t have them you won’t be able to cast spells)
-stamina, also found by other names, depending on the game, this represents how much time you can run, of do special moves.

Besides these three there are a few other primary attributes like:
-strength - representing the strength of your character, you’ll have to put points here if your character is a fighter.
-dexterity -representing the dexterity of your character, usually important for archers.
- intelligence - representing the intelligence of your character, usually important for wizards.
There may appear some more primary attributes depending on the game but don’t worry they are usually explained!

Experience - this is heart of the game, and this (along with the story) will keep you in front of the computer for days! Basically, when you kill monsters you get experience, you also get experience when you do the quests. This experience is used to grow in level, making you stronger and able to battle with more and more monsters. Take care how you spend your experience, because in the later part of the game it’s important to be strong so you can finish the game. Usually it’s best to choose a line of evolution at the beginning and keep it until the end of the game !

Ok, we’ve reached the end of part one, hope I was able to enlighten you a little concerning the mysteries of RPG games. See you in part two!
